Timperley Ladies 5s vs Chester Ladies 4s
Timperley 0 – Chester 1
Player of the match : Sophie Williams
Saturday showed the power of structured play and dedicated players. Chester headed away to play Timperley, short on players with just 8, compared to the opposition squad of 15. Chester held their own, with some great distribution around the back. Some strong through balls from Tali A-White to Marion Ardron on the right and Karen Elliot upfront meant we held the ball in the attack well in the first half. A short corner saw Karen score with a great strike.
Just before half time Sarah Mallion arrived to join the Chester ranks and with their now team of 9, continued to keep possession. The quick passes and communication showed by all Chester team members were key to the win. Special mention must go to Eleanor Lloyd-Brown, who had an amazing performance in goal, saving countless difficult shots.
Overall, the match was tiring but a great achievement - keeping Chester in the top half of the league. A big thank you to all the players who played.
