For the first time this season, Chester 4s were unable to field a keeper for this game, which had a significant impact on the result.
Alderley Edge were quick in the midfield but not particularly dominating further up the attack. Without a keeper, Chester didn't settle into a solid formation at the back in the first half and Alderley managed to score four fairly sedate goals having broken the last line of defence on the break.
Chester changed the sway of the game in the second half and scored two great goals and narrowly missed some further chances. The first was scored when Eve sent a powerful and accurate cross right across goal which Alice tipped into the left corner. The second was another skilled touch in at the post by Marion on the end of Jackie's cleanly taken short corner.
