From the outset, Longridge piled on the pressure. However, Chester defended hard and the home team managed to keep the opposition out despite several penalty corner chances.
Chester quickly upped their game, with several scuffles in the opposite 'D', inevitably leading to a penalty flick. Skipper Fran Gibson stepped up for Chester; calmly slotting the ball to the left past the keeper's stick, giving them an early lead.
From then on Chester were by far the better side, ruthlessly pushing to secure their lead. They did just that when Claire O'Hara poked the ball over the line on a short corner leaving the score 2-0 at half-time.
In the second half Chester were just as, if not more, flawless, with two short corners being converted by Nia Hughes as left slip in the second half.
Half-back Roz Bingham also pushed up to score a well-deserved goal.
Kristina Roper worked tirelessly in midfield to out-pass the opposition, earning her player of the match.
Longridge fought hard as the second half drew to a close, but to top it all off, Hughes scored in open play to secure her hat trick, and further consolidate Chester's first win of the season.
Final score 6-0
