Chester Ladies 1s vs Newcastle Uni Ladies 1s
Chester 2 - Newcastle Uni 0
Chester began the game with real drive and gumption following a losing streak over the past couple of weeks. It was Chester who dominated from the off which resulted in an early short corner. Fran Hughes able to find defender Emma Blair at the post who was then able to convert with a cracking deflection. Chester looked comfortable and were able to move the ball with great ease around the back and finding the inside to inside ball which resulted in several positive chances from Chester. Chester went into the second half with a narrow lead, a lead which Chester knew they had to extend in order to keep Newcastle at bay. Skipper Sarah Mulligan was able to deliver with a cracking goal thanks to some great build up play from Nia Hughes. Although Newcastle were able to regain some of the possession, the Chester defence were not phased in the slightest and along with rest of the team were able to finish the game with a clean sheet and another great win from the blues. Next week Chester will face bowdon at the county officers for their last game of the season and would love to see as much support as possible to cheer them on to victory for a final time this season
