After an impressive 6 point weekend the previous week, Chester ladies started the game with the determination to continue their winning streak. The ladies started the game pushing forward and in the first couple of minutes created several positive chances, as Fran Hughes was able to find the long ball and stretch a strong alderley edge side, occasionally throwing a cheeky aerial ball. The ladies continuing efforts in the first 15 minutes earned them the first goal of the match with a great touch by Nia Hughes. Following the goal Chester looked confident with the ball and were able to break down the Alderley defence on several more occasion but were however unable to find the back of the net and further stretch their lead. Going into the second half Alderley Edge looked more dangerous, they were able to move the ball round the back with ease and then use the wings to drive at goal. However the work rate of the Chester team meant that the ladies were able to keep Alderley at bay and prevent any real shots at goal. Chester were unable to regain any real possession of the ball and the last 15 minutes of match proved to be a great test for the Chester defence as Alderley continued to enter the D. Two almost consecutive short corners both of which were converted lead to Alderley securing the 2-1 win as the final whistle blew. Despite the result, Chester showed Alderley Edge (2nd in the table) that they were not be underestimated after a game of two her different halves.
