Chester 3-3 Ben Rhydding

A second meeting against Ben Rhydding marked the start of the 2nd half of the season for the Chester ladies. The game started off positively as the defensive line were able to find the long
ball and stretch a strong Ben Rhydding side. After repeated entries from the ladies upfront, Chester went 1-0 up at around the 20 minute mark after a brilliant deflection from Claire Tyrie.
The ladies retained the majority of possession and Chester's Fran Hughes furthered the ladies lead from a short corner. Ben Rhydding found it difficult to find anyway of progressing up the pitch
as the ladies worked as a unit to track the ball down which ultimately resulted in Chesters final goal of the half from Nia Hughes, meaning the ladies went into the second half with a 3-0 lead.
However, despite a fabulous first half Chester were unable to find momentum as Ben Rhydding were able to break down Chesters play with much more ease. Continued pressure from Ben Rhydding resulted in their first goal of the match and with this the opposition gained confidence and looked threatening which ultimately lead to two quick successive goals in the final remaining minutes of the game. Despite the game ending with an unfortunate and disappointing draw, the game showed great improvement from the ladies since the beginning of the season, and resulted in a point which may prove to be vital.
