Similar to last weeks game, Chester ladies 1st team dominated in the first 15 minutes of game which resulted in a 1-0 lead, with Sarah Mulligan tactfully beating the keeper. However Whitley bay soon took advantage of the Chester ladies momentary lapse in concentration and levelled the score at 1-1 going into the second half. Throughout the second half of the match, the ladies 1st team continued to stay high and push for a win allowing them to create several short corner chances, none of which however were able to find the back of the net. An unfortunate foot in the Chester "D" meant Whitley bay were awarded a lucky short corner and a slick deflection from the opposition meant that Chester had to push for a way back into the match in the final ten minutes. Despite chester's continuing efforts to level the score, with many opportunities narrowly missing the net, the game ended in a 2-1 defeat for the ladies, a result which many would argue was not a true reflection of the game.
