Chester Ladies 1st team played out a hard fought 1 all draw on Saturday away at Kendal. The Kendal team had come down from the national league last season so this was always going to be a difficult fixture especially with the former Chester player Rhiannon Bowles now part of the Kendal squad. Chester were dominant throughout the opening phases of the game. Their efforts were rewarded when Nia Hughes was fowled in the circle and captain Frances Hughes despatched the resulting penalty flick.

Having grabbed a late equaliser Kendal came out with renewed vigour in the second half. Despite constant pressure from the Kendal attack, Chester defended heroically and goal keeper Gemma Ible produced a fantastic second half display to give Chester a well deserved point away from home. This week the university of Durham travel to Chester with the home team looking to take their first 3 points of the season.
