Chester were hungry for the win this week after an unlucky 2 week run. The blues dominated the first half at Abbey Gate with multiple strong attacks starting from defence. The first goal of the match came from a quick counter attack, with Abbey Hunter deflecting in Emily Garner's strike from top of the D.
Unfortunately Chester weren't able to capatilise on this lead, despite some promising attempts on goal. York women stepped up their game in the second half and were relentless in their bid to level the scoreline. York's goal came after a Chester attack where they broke with pace and outnumbered Chester defence.
A 1-1 scoreline didn't reflect the pace and excitement of this game. Both teams are excited for the rematch already but first, Chester are ready to dominate Wakefield away this weekend.
