After a disappointing first game of the season, Chester Ladies 1’s were hungry for a win against Harrogate. Chester got off to a fantastic start with both attackers running at speed to secure two short corners. However, Harrogate ladies were both strong and fast allowing them to use their pace to get past our defence and score from top D. Unfortunately, soon after their first goal they managed to score again after Chester play had been broken down providing them with a 2-0 lead before half time.
After a strong team discussion from the team captain, Chester decided to get their heads down and really up the pressure on the opposition. This paid off when Nia Hughes produced an extraordinary strike across the D for Ryanne Bardgett to do a textbook tap in. Unfortunately there was not enough time left for Chester to complete their comeback and the game finished 2-1.
