Chester 1 - Pendle Forest 3

The ladies 1st team travelled away to Pendle Forest, for their first league game of the season.
The home side started fast and with intent as they looked to start their first season in division one as best as they could. Chester were under a lot of pressure during the first half and defended well to keep them out. The home team's pressure paid off following a controversial decision - giving them a 1-0 lead going into the break.
Following the half time break, Chester continued their hard work in defence however a lapse in concentration lead to them being 2-0 down following a good strike from a Pendle Forest forward in open play.
Chester then picked up the intensity and with some excellent build up play and retained possession, they won a penalty corner. The penalty corner was neatly tucked away by Nia Hughes- giving the chester side hope of a comeback. Unfortunately Chester were unable to push on, conceding a sloppy goal towards the end of the game.
As a result, Chester were unable to come away with the win, and a with it, a slow start to their campaign this season.
