From the very beginning of the game the ladies were able to build on last weeks strong team performance against a very capable Bowdon team. The first 20 minutes of the game saw Chester hold onto possession of the ball enabling them to push forward and pressure the Bowdon back line for long periods of time. Although Bowdon were on a couple of occasions able to break quickly, Chester's excellent defensive work rate prevented any upset and Chester efforts were rewarded with a well deserved goal at the other end of the pitch from Chester's Nia Hughes. The ladies continued to stay level headed in the last couple of minutes of the first half, however an unlucky deflection from a Bowdon short corner meant that going into the second half of the game the score stood at 1-1. Both teams continued to create several chance in the second half, however it was noticeable that Chester were significantly more defensive at this stage of the game. Despite some positive movement going forward in the late stage of the game the Bowdon defence prevented the chance of the ladies repeating last weeks victory.
