Chester Men 6s vs Llandudno Mens 2s
Chester 2 - Llandudno 3
In an away fixture played at Arctic temperatures out on the North Wales coast Chester left the changing rooms at the last possible moment to "warm" up. The coin toss was tightly monitored to ensure which team had to start with the freezing cold head wind. The game was a narrow loss for Chester marked by probably the best team performance of the season. The attack focused Llandudno team kept the Chester defence under constant pressure throughout the first half with the half time break seeing Chester behind by two goals. Chester came out battling in the second half with constant pressure on the opposition 23 until the final whistle. Chester pulled back two goals via Dave Spender and Bob McCombe with Marcus Jeremy executing a sublime dribbling run nearly the full length of the pitch and nearly making it three. Despite superb saves from goal keeper Pete Clewes Chester were unable to keep the winning Llandudno goal out of the net. The result aside this was the best defensive performance by Chester to date. Well done team for what was a warrior effort.
