Chester 2 – Rhyl 0
Chester took the initiative from the first minute controlling the tempo of the game. However Chester moved the ball to the flanks and exposed the weak areas of the Rhyl defence. Cieran Sweeney’s marauding play provided the opportunity for to fire home. Indeed had it not been for an inspired display by the Rhyl Keeper captain Done would have slotted home form a penalty corner. Sweeney made it two before the break coolly slotting it past the keeper. In the second half Man of the Match Michael Howard pulled the strings and controlled the tempo while Rob Cobbain, Lee Davies and Chris Bowles in the Chester defence denied any attacking opportunities.
