Chester’s Captain fantastic Lewis Done demanded a good performance and a win on the final day of the season. Deeside are a strong opposition and were up for the game. Chester controlled the initial exchanges and created the initial openings. Deeside’s keeper made a number of fine saves, Michael Howard and Chris Thomas pulled the strings while Hew Millar rampaged down the line. Chester opened the scoring with a smart finish.

Joe Laws the Chester keeper was repeatedly called into action as the Chester defence led by Rob Cobbain and Colin Mazonne dealt with their threat. Deeside however found their way through and levelled the score. Deeside were a constant threat until Tryfan Venables tenaciously followed up a shot to set up Stevie Hall to wheel round and smash home the winner. Chester remain top of the table however their rivals have a game in hand.
