Chester 2s and 3s enjoyed a great opener to the season in a game that was a great test for both sides. The first half was dominated by the midfield as Chester 3s continued to push against a 2s side full of forward play. The 3s defended impeccably throughout and were not broken until captain Done wrong-footed the 3s' keeper with a trademark “Done-scoop”. The second half continued in similar vein, just before Chester 2s broke into their stride and managed to make their fitness tell; goals from Mugford, Thomas, Nicholas, and Howard put the game to bed. Howard's goal being the highlight of the match as the 2s connected several quick passes together before Howard slid home. White then scored with a miss hit bobbler from a short corner, to put Chester 2s top of the league on the opening day. The most pleasing aspect of this game was the abundance of talent on show which puts the club in a very healthy state for the rest of the season.
