It looked like it might not be Chester's day when they were confronted with a 12p charge at the Rixton and Warburton toll bridge. Nevertheless, the boys in blue made a positive start under the captaincy of Tom Fairbairn.
With a couple of missed opportunities, Tom Warburton (no relation to the Rixton toll, but purportedly great nephew of the bread man) popped up to drive the visitors 1-0 ahead.
In an encounter which saw hitting, pinching, swearing and swearing (a lot of swearing), Urmston drew back and took the lead before half time.
Unfazed by this deficit at the break, John Roper helped Chester rally, which prompted a marvellous 2 yard finish from Sean Blain. This drew Chester level, before the frANGELIC Brett Dempster put the away side ahead. Urmston saw red, and although Chester were reduced to nine for some mistimed challenges, Steve Edmonds sealed the win with a bobbler down the line at a penalty corner.
Two wins on the bounce for Chester who play host to Preston in their next fixture
