Chester travelled to Bowdon to begin the second half of the season, with the anticipated thundersnow holding off enough to allow Bowdon proceed. Bowdon started strongly with two early goals and by 5 minutes had passed it was 2-1 thanks to a Jim Challenor drag flick. Soon after Bowdon regained their two goal lead from their own short corner. On the stroke of half time Chester reduced the deficit to one goal when Tedd Mason converted a long ball in to the dee at the back post, a finish quickly becoming his trademark. Bowdon extended their lead following the restart before Jim Challenor again converted a short corner to make it 4-3. Chester then dominated possession against a Bowdon XI much improved from the seasons earlier meeting. Brett Dempster in particular impressed for Chester creating several goalshot chances which were not taken by the visitors. Bowdon extended their lead with around 15 minutes to go and despite Chester continuing to threaten the game finished 5-3 to the hosts.
