Chester were on the road again and emphatically returned to winning ways. In a tight first half Sean Blain marked his return to the squad with a short range deflection. Wakefield pressed hard and the defence absorbed a number of threats before equalising via a penalty corner on the stroke of half time.

The second half saw Wakefield capitalise on a poor Chester pass and take the lead. However this galvanised Chester and there was an immediate response. Clinical distribution from James Challenor and incisive forward play by Paul Coeplak provided the platform for Blain to score. John Roper bamboozled the Wakefield keeper to score two penalty corners. The rout was sealed by Paul Cieplak and Simon Jones both finishing well. Coach Matt Oakley made a cameo appearance from the bench as Chester confidently closed the game out. Chester look forward to hosting league leaders Ben Rhydding on Saturday
