Chester men's 1 vs Sheffield Hallam 2
Chester won 4-3
Andy Murray 3
James Nairn 1
Chester played host to a strong Sheffield Hallam side in a well umpired and competitive fixture. Hallam took advantage mid way through the first half through a penalty stroke and doubled their lead by punishing some poor Chester marking. A weaker side could have capitulated, however this lit the Chester touch paper. The home side increased the pressure forcing a string of fine saves from the Hallam keeper before Andy Murray finished a dazzling Huw Barrett break.
Chester started the second half strongly and Andy Murray again struck from a Ben Scott cross. This provided the platform for more pressure and James Nairn smashed one into the roof of the net. The game became ragged and Hallam pressed hard forcing a fine save from the chester keeper, however Hallam profited from the rebound. Chester were hungry for the win and immediately Andy Murray completed his hat trick to win the game. Hallam provided one last twist with a penalty corner which forced a fine save from Dafydd Jones to secure 3 points, Chester top the league.
