Chester Maintained their unbeaten run with a point against a resolute Manchester side. Chester’s high scoring reputation preceded them and Manchester parked the proverbial bus in front of their goal. Chester were hit on the counter attack, with Manchester opening the scoring. Paul Cieplak immediately restored parity and Chester went into the break clearly on top.

Chester started the second half brightly and created several openings finished well by Andy Murray and Stevie Hall. However Manchester stuck to their game plan and scored with a well worked penalty corner and an uncharacteristic piece of poor defending enabled them to equalise. Both sides went for the victory and Roper finished under pressure however Manchester cancelled it out. A frustrating day for the league leaders.
