Chester turned on the style on a balmy day at fortress Upton. Fresh from a training session with England star Philip Roper on Thursday evening.

Chester stunned Harrogate with a strong display. Captain Cieplak unnerved the Harrogate defence before Challenor opened the scoring after 10 minutes launching a drag flick to wrong foot the Harrogate keeper. Murray then ploughed his way through a hapless Harrogate defence to open his account for the season.

The second half started with a brief Harrogate rally and they scored from a worked penalty corner. However this Chester side is full of attacking talent and first Nairn calmly slotted home and then Langston provided a deft finish. However a rare piece of lax marking allowed Harrogate to slot home and then with their tails up they scored again from open play. Challenor calmed the nerves and restored the Chester advantage by rifling a penalty corner home before Hughes used his trademark quick hands to net the sixth. Chester moved to top the table.
