Scorers: S Edmonds (4), B Dempster (3), P Cieplak, D Hughes, J Roper
Man of the Match: Neil MacLeod
Chester's men triumphed in their first competitive fixture of the season when they faced Stockport Bramhall in the Cheshire Cup. The summer break didn't seem to halt coach Steve Edmonds' rich vain of goalscoring form as he slotted four in total at the Chester Sports Centre.
Also joining in on the act was captain Dave Hughes, who steadied his nerve to score one despite missing with a quite frankly pathetic penalty flick attempt. Paul Cieplak scored on his first competitive game for Chester while John Roper flicked past a hapless 'keeper following a well worked corner routine.
Impressive performances were seen all over the pitch with Man of the Match Neil MacLeod performing ably at the back and Harry Bennett showing a calm head on young shoulders in the middle. Meanwhile, Australian import Brett Demptser notched up a hat-trick on his début.
Chester will be disappointed to have conceded three, but on the whole it was a positive performance setting up a round two match-up against Bowden 1st XI at home on Sunday 15 September.
