Chester Beavers ‘B’ vs Brooklands Beavers ‘B’

Youth league hockey returned to Chester Hockey Club at The Cheshire County Sports Club this weekend. The Beavers 'B' team started well with a convincing 4-1 win against a team from Brooklands, Sale. With some new young players (age 10) coming through to join the experienced players in the match day squad coach Neil Gordon picked a 3-5-2 system which gave a great balance of attack and defence. Goal Scorers Ben Jeremy, Tom Lloyd-Brown, Theo Irvine and William Atkinson were well supported by a strong midfield led by Max Gordon and Sean Standen and a defence marshalled by Grace Atkinson. Chester dominated the game throughout and were unlucky to concede in the dying seconds of the match. Leo Ferdenzi was the pick of the new players with his pace and desire to win the ball. Other new players Noah Bansall and Theo Irvine were selfless and skillful in the midfield, Matty Jones and Sam Warner were strong in defence and Ben Jeremy's game awareness created options. It was great to see the team start the season with a win and look forward to the rest of the season.
