Rhyl 3 – Chester 4

Rhyl Ladies 1s v Chester Ladies 2s
Rhyl 3 – Chester 4
Player of the match : Jess Parkinson

On a brisk wintry morning Chester Ladies 2's arrived in 'sunny' Rhyl needing and wanting a win. They knew the opposition's position in the league did not reflect the formidable task ahead. Rhyl were foe of old for some Chester players and Rhyl's identical twin players had at times in the past served up a broth of confusion. Chester were adamant that would not happen this time, they had them weighed up.

There was an added incentive put to the Chester Ladies following the pre- match team talk, by their Assistant Manager and Chief Supporter, Ollie Boothroyd aged 4 and 3/4. Sweets all around if they won! What more could Chester want.

Chester made hard work of the game in the first half, with them struggling to pick up ball pace or off the ball movement. They were punished as a result with the score at half time being 1-1. They were scraping by and the opposition looked like they wanted the win more.

After a stern half-time team talk by the Captain, Chester Ladies started playing more like their usual selves in the second half and as a result there was a wave of attacks on the the Rhyl goal. Communication also picked up. As a result of the improved play there was some clinical goal scoring from Martine Green and Alex Moore, each claiming a brace. Rhyl picked up a couple of goals but Chester held out. 4-3 win to Chester 2's.
