Chester hosted Rhyl this weekend. Chester had the majority of the play in the first half and managed to score the first goal. However, Rhyl broke through and after a tussle in Chester's circle earned themselves a penalty corner which they converted. Chester continued to apply pressure and eventually got their second goal. 2-1 to Chester at half time.

Rhyl came out fighting in the second half and stepped up their attack. Chester did not relax their play and had several shots at goal but were struggling to convert them. Rhyl earned themselves another penalty corner and following the shot being defended on the goal line at above waist height and the rebound scuffled in, Chester challenged the legality of the goal. Unfortunately for Chester ladies, one referee was adamant it would have dipped and the goal stood.

This spurred Chester on to up the ante and they claimed back the majority of the play. It worked and another 2 goals were scored. Final score 4-2 to Chester with Camilla Smith scoring a hat-trick and Meghan Whan also getting herself on the scoresheet.
