It was a very windy meeting between Chester Ladies 2's and their visitors, Lymm 2's, thanks to an uninvited visitor, Storm Brian. Chester knew this was going to be a lively match with Lymm being third in the division and having had some good results so far this season. Chester defence were under pressure for the first 10 minutes as Lymm sought an early goal. Chester managed to keep them out though and then settled down to play some well worked hockey and had several attacks on the visitor’s goal but the scoresheet stayed clean for both sides in the first half.

0-0 going into the second half. Both teams stepped up their game but so did Storm Brian, adding rain and lower temperatures to the existing windy conditions. This made for slippery grips on sticks. Again, the start of the half was very defensive for Chester and this time the visitors managed to find the back of the goal. This didn't deter Chester though who worked hard with some strong play especially from the younger members of the squad, Jess Parkinson and Tilly Irvine, which paid off with Chester netting 2 goals. The first by Martine Green and the second by Tilly Irvine. Lymm continued the fight and from a well worked short corner and strong strike, found the bottom left corner of the goal. Final score, 2-2.
