Chester 2's travelled away to Bowdon, who are the division leaders. Chester were aware it was going to be a tough, hard match and the game was just as expected.

Bowdon applied pressure from early on and the Chester defence were involved in the majority of play in the first half. Bowdon drew first blood but Chester were able to get a goal back through a Martine Green special of lobbing the ball over the goalkeeper from a penalty corner. The fight continued at pace and there was intense pressure around the Chester goal line with Nici Gelder clearing a ball off the line, but the ball then never left the circle as Bowdon packed the D, and they managed to score before the Chester goalkeeper was able to get back on her feet from an earlier defensive tackle. 2-1 at half time.

The high pace continued in the second half. Chester struggled with the bouncy nature of the Bowdon water-based pitch throughout the game and so never really got into playing their usual game until the last 10 minutes. They did however, manage to keep a clean sheet in the second half. Final score 2-1 to Bowdon.
