Chester 2's played their local derby this weekend when Northop Hall visited. Chester had a very slow start and most of the play of the first 10 minutes was in their own half with Northop Hall having several opportunities to score. Chester managed to keep them out however, and then found their rhythm and the back of the net with Ryanne Bardgett opening the scoring. Chester were then able to step up a gear again, pressed hard and managed to keep the majority of play in the opposing half. This resulted in Megan Whan scoring a brace to put Chester 3-0 ahead at half time.
A change of formation in defence resulted in another slow start to the second half which resulted in Northop Hall clawing back 2 early goals. Chester again then settled and returned to playing some well worked moves up the pitch and regularly found themselves in the attacking circle. Martine Green and Camilla Smith both then got their names on the scoresheet with a goal a piece. Chester were awarded a penalty corner just before the final whistle which resulted in Ryanne Bardgett getting a touch on a ball in from Abby Hunter, to get her second goal of the game and making the final score a 6-2 win for Chester.
