Chester played their first home game of the season against Warrington. Chester dominated the play but initially found it difficult to transfer it onto the scoreboard. Chester opened the scoring but then allowed Warrington to get a goal back. Warrington then put away another goal from a penalty corner. Chester managed to pull a goal back to go into half time at 2-2. The visitors had the chance to go ahead again in the second half but failed to convert a penalty flick. Chester's press was well drilled and caused problems for Warrington who often struggled to clear their own half. Chester upped their game in the last quarter which resulted in them finding the back of the goal twice, giving them a well deserved 4-2 win. The scorers were Martine Green with 2 goals and Ellen Barry and Ryanne Bardgett with a goal each.
