Knutsford are currently top of the division and only dropped 4 points all season before the arrival of a Chester side that blended youth and experience. Dave Newman was commanding in midfield dictating play while Matty Thombs and Ian Boothroyd marshalled the defence. Daf “The Cat” Jones was forced to make several sharp saves before Knutsford finally got a lucky deflection. It was the young players for Chester who turned on the style in the second half with Alex Mosquera bamboozling the left back, Tom Aardron working hard up front and Hari Bansil providing some excellent passing. This was capped off by a calm finish by Scott Hodgson. Chester were unlucky not to steal a win when Hodgson launched a second fierce shot wide.
