The Chester side was a blend of youth and experience. Captain Sam Chapman set the side out to controle the game. Dave Newman was highly effective in the midfield while Mark Townend and Rob Parkinson Marshalled the defence. James Barnard scored the pick of the goals firing past the Deeside keeper. Deeside remained a threat converting 2 penalty corners but as the game proceeded there was only one result.
