Chester travelled to Stourport a former powerhouse of English hockey. The side played well against a very experienced side. Chester were superb but failed to convert their chances. Man of the match Ian Boothroyd attacked down the right whilst Dave Newman and Adam Elliot dominated the midfield. However Stourport converted two penalty corners and scored from open play. It was an excellent game played in good spirit.
