Chester Ladies 3s got their league campaign off to a winning start against newly promoted Runcorn. Chester started quickly and dominated possession and could have scored several times but some stout defending from Runcorn prevented Chester scoring. A well worked short corner routine gave Emma the opportunity to open the scoring just before half time.
In the second half, Chester created many more chances but couldn't capitalise until some strong attacking from Tracy, Shona, Claudia and Georgia created an opportunity for Ryanne to slot the ball home. Some fantastic defence from Nikitha, supported by Rosie, Jenny and Juliette, with Emily making several crucial and impressive saves in goal made sure that Runcorn were kept goalless until 2 minutes from the end.
Next week, the Ladies 3s travel to Crewe.
