Chester Hockey Club hosted a social game of hockey with players from the Ladies 4th and 5th teams, the Men’s 6th team, and players from our youth section last week. In the blazing evening sun, the players met and exchanged pleasantries and handshakes, while chatting through a gentle warm up.

Once the sides were selected, friendships and family ties were discarded in this fiercely competitive game. The first quarter ended goalless, with chances for both teams.

Bibs led the 2nd quarter but were unable to keep the opposition at bay in the 3rd due to the speed, strength and stamina of the youth players.

All to play for in the final quarter, and the game ended a tense 5-4 to the bibs. The game was thoroughly enjoyed by all that participated, and is already becoming a popular fixture over the summer.
