Ok people, please support Phil Lynn

On Sunday Phil Lynn will be competing in his first ironman! Instead of raising money he would like people to share a pint with him... not of beer but BLOOD. To raise awareness of giving blood he will provide the sweat and tears and you provide the blood. So to match his 2.5 mile swim, 112 mile cycle and 26.2mile run, all you have to do is give a pint of blood, definitely the easier job! Just log onto www.blood.co.uk or become a fan on Facebook of the National Blood Service to learn how to do it. He is aiming to raise 140 pint to match the miles, go on do something AMAZING give blood.

If you do, please can you let Phil know either by text, email philiplynn2@aol.com or on his facebook page so he can total the pints.

Call Up for England

Call up for England

Huw Barrett aged 15 (left) and Philip Roper aged 18 both of Chester Hockey Club Men’s 1st XI have been chosen to represent England Under 16’s and Under 18’s respectively. They are travelling this Easter to a holding/training camp at the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall, Shropshire and then on to Hanover, Germany for a round robin Four Nations Tournament with Germany, Spain and the Netherlands from 2nd to 5th April.

Junior Success

It has been a successful season for our juniors, the 1st XI beat Rotherham 8-0 a few weeks ago with nine players under 21. Junior international honours have been won and the club’s top three teams have all seen juniors secure places and play a major role in these teams. The club also launched a youth development side of fourteen and fifteen year olds boys who have competed well in the men’s league. Therefore, it came as no surprise at the club’s annual dinner dance and awards evening that the club member of the year went to Diana Ormandy who has coached and managed the boy’s youth teams for the past five years and whose junior side had yet another victory 10-5 in an exciting game with Northop Hall.
