Chester Men's 7s vs Chester Men's 6s - Saturday 5th November 2011

Won 3-2
Scorers – Danny-Dearden Williams, Bob Pugh, Pete Walmsley

The tension was palpable, the anticipation long awaited, the game of the season, so far, lived up to the hype. The interclub battle between 6ths and 7ths, who play in the same NWH League concluded at half time with the inform 6th Team taking a two goal lead through Gareth Thomas and Greg Lawler. The 7th Team came out fighting and at the end of full time had pulled it back to 2-2 through finely executed goals by Danny-Dearden Williams and Bob Pugh [his hockey career first]. But with the final whistle came a final short corner which was clinically executed by Captain, Peter Walmsley, to give the in-form 7th Team victory and the 3 points. This game will live in the annals of Chester Hockey Club history as the mother of all battles depicting the fighting spirit which makes the Club GREAT.
